Individual and couples therapy: 1 hour weekly sessions.
Group Therapy
To join a group, we first get to know each other. This can happen in individual or couples sessions where we also decide together whether group therapy would be helpful to you. The group is where we have a greater opportunity, a richer environment, to develop our sociality. I call my groups “developmental philosophy group” because often, our sociality “develops” depending on, unbeknownst to us, when we play with the philosophical assumptions we are making about each other and our lives.
- Weekly Ongoing Group Sessions:
- • Mondays, 6:00-7:30 p.m.
• Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
In March 2020, in response to covid, I moved my practice to all virtual. To take full advantage of virtual sessions, you need a comfortable, quiet, private space with access to a stable internet connection.
Sports/Performance Counseling
In the late 1960s, enough people began to think that athletes and other “high-performance” individuals - surgeons, CEOs, and performing artists - were special enough to warrant a science and therapy named for what they do. Various university programs and professional organizations blossomed to prepare mental training experts to address their unique concerns. I was one of those thus prepared. Nevertheless, when I studied social therapy, I discovered that we are all special; we are all “communicators.” We all get “weak in the knees” - get anxious or depressed, and lose concentration and motivation - when we fear the “communication” of others will be in the form of a negative judgment of our efforts and accomplishments.
Whatever we are doing in life, our “success” and “peak performance” is affected by our relationships and our community - our sociality. I help athletes, and other “high-performance” achievers create the relationships they want. There is no need to get weak in the knees when people are judging us.

Insurance
Navigating the insurance world can be daunting. The information below is intended to get us started with navigating this world.
In-Network
• Aetna• UHC (and Optum/Oxford)
• Magnacare/Beacon
If you wish to use Aetna, UHC/Oxford, or Magnacare/Beacon insurance, please find out whether you have a deductible and/or the amount of any copay or coinsurance you may have contracted with your insurance company.
If you have a deductible, I file the claim, and your payment to me goes toward paying down your deductible. After you meet your deductible, you pay me only your copay and/or coinsurance. During the pay-down period, the fee is determined by your insurance company, depending on which insurance company you have.
